The Breast Health Initiative is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with PCC, other breast health care providers, and patients to work through common issues and help patients overcome obstacles.
Shady Grove Adventist Hospital works with the Mercy Health Clinic to provide block appointments for referrals and provides all necessary imaging on the same day, creating a “one-stop shop”. The whole process is a lot more convenient for staff and, most importantly, less stressful for the patient.
In one instance, a patient, with previous abnormal mammogram and biopsy results, was due for a follow-up. The Hospital Breast Cancer Screening Coordinator worked proactively with the patient to bring previous imaging and pathology reports to the mammogram appointment. The patient was grateful for the extra attention and coordination from the clinic and the hospital to ensure quality and timely care.
Through this Initiative, Shady Grove Adventist and Mercy Health Clinic developed a great working relationship to better serve the women of the community.
